Final Major Project : Miura P400 SV - Update 16 (Low Poly)

Here is the finished low poly model. I've separated this off into a secondary layer labelled as 'full mesh'. Having multiple cloned layers allows me to create one that does not have symmetry applied to it (more efficient for UV space) and will be used as the base for the high poly bake inside Substance Painter. This second mesh (below) will be exported into unreal 4 and used for the final render.

I had to make several choices when it came to the budget for this piece. Initially, my proposal was to create this car in 60k tris. However, having now gone through the process, I realise how mistaken I was to think this was an accurate goal to achieve. This mesh is just under 130k tris, which by my research is still at least 40k under industry standard cars (170k-250k). It certainly could be done within 60k tris, however, it would be a vehicle either destined for a low poly background NPC car or a lead car from the PlayStation 2 era, certainly not up to today's industry standards. So I made the choice that I would adapt my budget and could use what I felt necessary, provided it stayed under a total of 170k, to better achieve a more industry-ready asset.
