Final Major Project : Miura P400 SV - Update 15

Over the past week or so, I've been creating the wheel storage (front) and engine bay (rear). I decided that my best approach for these was to create the low poly versions first. This is because I was unsure of the level of detail I would be able to get in with the restricted budget. By creating the low poly first, I have the base silhouette to then match the high poly up to.

At this point, I've started to become unsure of my initial budget proposal of 60k tris. This is only a third of what industry use (170k+) and although I don't doubt this could be done with a smaller budget, it won't allow me to get the level of detail I want from this model. As a portfolio piece, I want this to look interesting and detailed. At the moment I have a lot of flat meshes and 90-degree angles that I don't want. As well as not including a lot of detail, especially in the engine area. I have decided to have a meeting with my lead artist (course leader) to discuss increasing the overall budget of the model.

During this time, there is not a lot more I can continue with on the model in case the budget changes. So I will be developing some of the textures I will be using for the final renders.
